Social Skills

We celebrate neurodiversity & value each person’s uniqueness. We also recognise that the world is often designed for those who are considered neurotypical.

Our mission is to equip our learners with the tools they need to be as independent as developmentally possible & foster meaningful relationships if they choose.

Social Stars

We believe in empowering every learner to navigate their world with confidence while respecting their individuality and personal goals.

Social Stars is a 6-week programme where each week the group engages in fun, interactive activities designed to support friendship building, social communication, executive functioning, and emotional regulation. Through structured, play-based learning, children have the opportunity to practise and refine these essential skills in a supportive group environment.

What Makes Our Life Skills & Social Skills Programmes Different?

Unlike our broader early intervention programmes, our Social Skills and Life Skills programmes are considered focused programmes, targeting specific areas of development. These programmes are ideal for learners who experience delays in particular skill sets, such as social interaction, communication, or executive functioning.

  • Social Skills Programme: Designed for children who require support in social behaviour, this programme focuses on peer interaction, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Life Skills Programme: Tailored for learners who have aged out of early intervention, this programme supports the development of essential daily living skills for those enrolled in a school.

How Many Hours Per Week Are Required?

The recommended hours per week vary depending on your child’s individual needs and school schedule.

  • Social Skills Programme: Typically, 2 hours per week, focusing on social behaviours and peer interaction in a group setting.
  • Life Skills Programme: Hours vary from 6 to 10 hours per week, depending on the complexity of your child’s goals. For some children, a lower-intensity programme focusing on self-care may be appropriate, while others may benefit from a more comprehensive schedule addressing multiple areas of development.

Where Do Sessions Take Place?

Our approach is flexible and tailored to your child’s unique needs. When you enrol in one of our Social Skills programmes, we begin with a caregiver interview and an assessment process to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals.

  • Clinic-Based Sessions: For children focusing on social skills, we recommend sessions in our clinic setting. This provides valuable real-time opportunities for peer interaction and immediate feedback.
  • Home-Based Sessions: If your child needs support with daily living skills, home-based sessions may be more appropriate to practise skills in their natural environment.

We work closely with families to ensure our programmes are personalised and responsive to your child’s development, helping them gain the confidence and skills needed to succeed in everyday life.
